Humorous BG2EE Party/Playthrough Ideas

TvrtkoSvrdlarTvrtkoSvrdlar Member Posts: 353
So I'll be starting a new run as soon as I finish my current 'evil' one.
I'd like to get a lol-worthy party going, and need some ideas for Charname.
Ideally, Charname's race/class/item combo should be something hilarious.
This is the party I've come up with so far (reasoning given in brackets):

JAN JANSEN (for the turnips... also, gnomes are lol)

ANOMEN (party's black sheep due to his hissy fits)

IMOEN ('cause she's fun, and I genuinely like her)

NEERA (for Wild surges, and epic randomness)

MINSC (with Lilarcor for added lulzyness! :D)

CHARNAME (?????) --> something funny!

Keep in mind that the group's theme is unintentional mayhem! :D
Also, post your own humorous parties and group compositions.
And feel free to talk about hilarious combat tactics as well :P

    A Jester, of course. Who's funnier? :D

    You kind of have to have a Jester, then!

    There's some discussion of a hilarious way to tank with your bard at the bottom of this thread. Polymorph into a singing mouse or jelly! It's directed towards Skald but I imagine Jester would also work.

    Unfortunately, you're limited to human or half-elf.

    I'll probably tweak a .2da to let it allow a gnome :P

    Anyway, Lilarcor aside, what's the most lulz-worthy weapon in the game?

    Club of detonation!

    @nano

    hehe, I can already see it: a stumpy gnome wielding a fireball-chugging club!

    just a quick question, though - is the fireball party-friendly? I'm hoping it's not, but I can't remember

    also, what about armor and other item slots?
  • nanonano Member Posts: 1,632
    Nope, it will blow you up too if you're not careful :D

    Not sure about the armor, there is that jester's chain but it's not the greatest.

    You also have to give up a pair of Boots of Speed to get it.

    Find a way to squeeze korgan in there, OP - he's awesome :)

    I hate to say it, but Minsc. Don't get me wrong, he's the best - but if you've already done a playthrough with him like most people have, you've already heard his best lines. You could also drop Anomen if your charname has divine power to make up for it.

    You might also want to swap Neera for Edwin if you haven't played with him yet. Neera is great, but Edwin probably has the funniest questline/banter in the game.

    Drop Minsc and Neera, pick up Korgan and Edwin. Great lulz will be had, my friend :)

    I totally forgot about Edwin turning into a bitter harpy, lol

    About Korgan; I don't recall him having any more quests except the book of Kazaa... then again, I've only taken him along once and that was years ago... does he get another quest later on?

    I support Wilson for president, in that group.

    @Mornmagor

    Wilson is that easter-egg bear NPC, right? I still have no idea where he can be found, or what the prerequisites for recruiting him are. Care to illuminate the matter? :D

    I tried making a full group of gnomes quickly in ToB as a test, it would also be quite a challenge with no necromancy spells.

    @TvrtkoSvrdlar
    I think you hear about Wilson in the Wild Mage camp first, Neera's Quest, and then you see him in Rasaad's quest in Trademeet in a cage, or something. I haven't done the quest yet, so i'm not sure, but i know that when you see him in the cage, you need to talk with him, and when you see the quest log mentioning it, you will have the chance to recruit him later on.
  • EudaemoniumEudaemonium Member Posts: 3,199
    @TvrtkoSvrdlar

    First you need to play Neera's quest until you reach the camp. At the back of the camp is a stoner elf who tells you about an enlightened awesome bear named Wilson, who he hasn't seen in a long while. You then get the quest 'Where's Wilson?'

    Then you need to recruit Rasaad and play his quest until the final area, the Temple. Before entering the temple head right and you will see a bunch of animals in cages being used to train the monks. Wilson is the bear. You have to talk to Wilson in his cage and (maybe) agree when he offers to help you. Talk to the animal trainer/jailer and agree to buy Wilson's freedom. He asks for 1000g but I managed to barter him down. Wilson will be released and run away.

    Once you complete Rasaad's quest, head back to the start of the area where you first entered. Wilson will be waiting for you by the exit and you will be able to take him into your party.

    Aha, thanks for the info, guys.

    One more thing, though; does the girdle of gender bender exist in BG2EE? If so, where is it? :D

    @Purudaya For comedy value Anomen must stay in the party with Jan, those two have me in hysterics, especially after Anomen brags about his obviously over-inflated giant killing story. I usually ensure i have them both in my party at the same time for their quests (aslong as i intend to do them period) just to read Jan's "completely unrelated" stories shortly after Anomen's.

    Bard by a mile. Arcane casters have so many options!
    Color spray - Pretty colors
    Glitter dust - Take that you're sparkly
    Polymorph other - Awww how cute
    Charm Spells - Stop hitting yourself

    You should do a play through and come up with the full list :)
