This is the second installation of the "pack" mods that I will be making for Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition. This mod is an weapon pack. There is a dwarf, Maltz, located outside of the Friendly Arm Inn who will

These weapons range from +1 to +3 so it will not be in everyone's taste. I did try to keep it balanced.

Thanks for making this weapon mods and I personally like it. But I wonder if there will be any new weapons for bows later on? :)

  • CoM_SolaufeinCoM_Solaufein Member Posts: 2,584
    Thanks.

There will be some ranged weapons in a future release. Maltz is a mercenary and doesn't discriminate against any weapon types.

    Clawhammer Sword of Fire +3
    Warblade of the North
    Beran's Battle Axe +3
    Throwing Axe +2 "Death's Bane"
    Battle Axe +3, Frostreaver
    Battle Axe +3, Stonefire
    Morning Star of Ice +2
    Mace of Disruption +2
    Mace of Disruption +1
    Mace +2
    Wyvern's Tail +2
    War Hammer +3
    War Hammer +2
    Dwarven Thrower +2
    Long Sword +2
    Scimitar +3
    Katana +3
    Bastard Sword +3
    Scimitar +2: 'Icing Death'
    Long Sword +3 'Purifier'
    Ninja-To +2
    Wakizashi +2
    Wakizashi +1
    Blade of Roses +3
    Long Sword +2 'Courage'
    Short Sword +2

A list. Yes there are some +3 weapons which may get the purist excited but there are also some decent +1 and +2 weapons to keep it balanced. Mr. Maltz won't be offended if you don't buy those higher end weapons. Some are BG2 weapons and some are weapons you see in BG1 but with different graphics and color.

New version 1.01 up. Included a few typo fixes and now plays happy with BGT and Tutu!

Download it again and try. The path wasn't set correctly for the script to install.

mmm ok it worked. Love the work you modders do btw. Computer retarded people like myself wouldn't have these wonderful mods if it wasn't for you modern day saints. Figure being on the computer since I was seven I'd pick up a few things, nope, not this guy.

  • CoM_SolaufeinCoM_Solaufein Member Posts: 2,584
    Good that it worked correctly.

Modding is fun to a point but most of the time it makes you want to rip the hair out of your head.

This mod looks really cool, I love the idea of more magical axes!

This may be a newbie question but when I download the mod I just get one file (the BGeeWv101.rar) file. In the directions it says to run the setup application but I don't see that application, what I am doing wrong? Thanks

  • CoM_SolaufeinCoM_Solaufein Member Posts: 2,584
You have to unzip the contents into your 00766 (If this is for BGEE) and click on the Setup to get it going

  • DarkcloudDarkcloud Member Posts: 302
Would you consider making a second vendor in Baldurs Gate that has the stronger weapons at least as an option? I think this would be more balanced but its a great Mod nevertheless.

  • CaerdonCaerdon Member Posts: 10
I'd love to see some bows in later versions. In any case: good job with the mod, it's always nice to have more options.

Hi, really like to try out the weapons mod, but it's not installing because of the bams file.

I read somewhere I have to amend the TP2 file -how do I open this?

I downloaded and installed the armour mod fine though.

Many thanks if you can help!

  • GuboGubo Member Posts: 51
Same deal for me @Maelora69. Did you find a way to make it work yet?

  • Maelora69Maelora69 Member Posts: 75
Yes, you have to delete something - one of the lines is spelled wrong.

CoM_Solaufein helped me get it working - PM him?

The weapons are overpowered but a lot of fun, and it's nice to have thrown axes and hammers!

  • CoM_SolaufeinCoM_Solaufein Member Posts: 2,584
Sorry people, I've been busy lately. I uploaded a new version that omits the line to install the non-existent BAM files.

  • LarkairnLarkairn Member Posts: 22
I tried it just now and I got an error during installation. "error loading [BGeeW/wav/]" and then it stops the installation and rolls back to a previous state.

  • CoM_SolaufeinCoM_Solaufein Member Posts: 2,584
Okay I deleted the / behind wav and it installed fine. You can do that in the TP2 or download the file again which includes that fix.

*I don't recall Weidu being that fussy with empty folder and / before.

Problem solved. Using links to the dialog.tlk file is not supported by weidu.exe, regardless of whether they're hard links or soft links. I had to copy/paste dialog.tlk in order to get weidu to play.

will this mod be ported to bg2:ee? as well as your other teambg armor pack

  • CoM_SolaufeinCoM_Solaufein Member Posts: 2,584
I guess I could do that. Just have the store clerks appear in a BG2 area.

  • CoM_SolaufeinCoM_Solaufein Member Posts: 2,584
I just reinstalled all of these mods since I installed the 1.02 patch. They installed fine. I'm using Beamdogs version of the game and not Steam. I've heard problems with people installing mods with the Steam version of the game.

I see this error "Unable to Unlink" in your log, maybe @Wisp will know about this since he has been updating the Weidu installer.

  • WispWisp Member Posts: 1,102
"Unable to unlink" is harmless. The problem here would appear to be the parse error in trigger.ids. Visually inspecting trigger.ids to confirm the problem would be a good first step to take.

  • I installed this mod and the Armor Pack. The Armor Pack is working fine, but the merchant for the weapons doesn't seem to show up where he should. Are the two mods compatible?

  • kaldgordkaldgord Member Posts: 22
I seem to have a problem, I have installed the armor and weapon pack.
The armor pack works just fine, but the dwarf selling the weapons seems to be nowhere to be seen, what could be the issue ?
