I can't and am not inclined to explain it, but play this song whenever you want me to shed a tear, (lyrics followed by the actual song):
STOCKHOLM SYNDROME --------------------- I won't stand in your way Let your hatred grow And she'll scream And she'll shout And she'll pray And she had a name Yeah she had a name
And I won't hold you back Let your anger rise And we'll fly And we'll fall And we'll burn No one will recall No one will recall
This is the last time I'll abandon you And this is the last time I'll forget you I wish I could
Look to the stars Let hope grow in your eyes And we'll love And we'll hate And we'll die All to no avail All to no avail
This is the last time I'll abandon you And this is the last time I'll forget you I wish I could
This is the last time I'll abandon you And this is the last time I'll forget you I wish I could I wish I could
Texas - Put Your Arms Around Me: This is a sober, acoustic version (as I couldn't find the original video). Either way very moving (to me).
Neil Young - Pocahontas: Once when I was at a Neil Young concert, and he performed this song, just him on a stool with his guitar and his harmonica. No effects, no show, just the man all alone baring his soul in front of the crowd. Only time in my life I cried at a concert. The lyrics help as well.
Groove Armada & Richie Havens - Hands of Time: The song rather than the video, though charismatic Richie Havens does look like a tormented soul.
Townes Van Zandt - Tecumseh Valley Heartbreaking.
Jackson Browne - Bright Baby Blues The beautiful lyrics kind of describe my own life.
I'm aware that these are songs rather than vids that make me sad and you're more interested in videos, therefore I'm giving you this:
Ennio Morricone - Finale (Once upon a Time in the West) Very effective use of fragments from the movie accompanying the masterpiece by the great Italian composer.
And this: Short film by Jonas Akerlund, with music by the Smashing Pumpkins
I'M not very good at attaching videos and things to posts so I apologize in advance, but with all the hatred today, all the trolling in and out of games, all of the anger, this old 70's classic makes me cry and I honestly feel it's an anthem that should be revived today. This song is called "Spare some love" by an old prog rock/folk band called Renaissance. The vocals of Annie Haslam are sublime and innocent(and one of the purest voice of her generation) as was the age it was written in and the lyrics are simple yet poignant. If someone can find a video of it and attach it to this post, I'd be grateful.
I have to stop half way through as it will make me blub...
It's the words...
Words have more meaning and depth than flat visual perception. Trust me.
Although... This song has nothing to do with me, my life or my experiences. I do not know many people who carry such hurt...
A happy song.
Sometimes you just gotta dance... This song reminds me of nights down the pub in the beer garden, with the blossom falling after that first warm sunny day, reminding you summer is here. My friends band Skabucks, playing away at full blast (Dr Tom on Sax) whilst I'm gulping a pint of Hobgoblin... Yep... Happy songs remind you of happy memories... And the best happy songs remind you of the possibility of creating future happy memories.
*Anduin runs to the garage to grab a bottle of Hobgoblin's*
@jackjack Hmm can't watch or listen because am at work, but I assume you posted Helpless, with the Band @ the legendary Last Waltz concert. Beautiful song, but I already knew you had good taste in music
I blub when I get to the man praying at the table, although the start lulls you in to a false sense of security. Perhaps, this effects me more as I work with well fed (and sometimes unjustly miserable) children. Please turn the sound off unless you want to weep for completely different reasons.
A happy clip.
Hahaha! Go Johnny GO! Yay! BRITAIN! BRITAIN!
...hmmm... forgot about the possibilty of a murderer popping up on the clip... Damn it. Need new happy clip!
Edit: It seems it won't embed on the mobile site, (though it does on the full one). It's the Prélude from Debussy's Suite bergamasque. Here's a link: http://vimeo.com/m/29915490

This makes me sad, but I don't think that's what you meant.
Here try these for sad:

(Or anything else in that album:P
For happy I think:
:P
What are you doing a study on? I assume this is some big college thing?
Sadly I lost the ability to get happy/sad a long time ago, so, I suppose I can't help much.
Shandyr: hope you have luck and come back soon, I miss you!
Sorry for the double post but couldn't tag Meagy otherwise.
Seeing these 2 burglars get distracted in a basement always gets me in a good mood:)

For unresolved father issues, nothing like Creedence: Someday never comes.
For issues with death, Satchmo: St James Infirmary.
It reminds me of things; regrets, mostly. I don't have a link to anything that makes me feel happy.

About 4 minutes too long, I know, but there is just so much sadness in this.
