about

This is an animation from the PST format converted to work with BGII (and probably IWD and IWDII).  This version contains all the animations orientation files for Thokola.  He does not have 'getting up' animation.  22 bams set.  This animation also requires a slot that supports character color.

All of my animation uploads will be raw animations named with the last four digits of the stock PST animations naming scheme.  It will be up to the person wishing to make use of these animatios to rename them with the desired animation slot prefix and create your own creature file.  See Installation for more details

installation

There are no installation instructions.  These are only the animation files.  It will be up to the person downloading to rename the files and create an installation.

Naming Help:  PST animation files contain their identifying characters as the last four digits, while BGII and IWD animation files use the first four digits.

The files contained here begin with the last four digits of the corresponding PST files, for help in identifying the animation.  In order to make use of these files in BGII or IWD, you will need to rename the first four digits of each file name to your desired slot overwrite of the Animate.ids.  Finding the prefix you desire can be done by looking at the ANISND.ids which lists all of the BGII animations along with their corresponding prefix.

Example:  Let's say I want to use the WIGHT_2 animation slot for my animation.  I would take each file and rename them accordingly with THKBA1 --> MWI2A1, THKBA1E --> MWI2A1E, THKBA2 --> MWI2A2, THKBA2E --> MWI2A2E, etc.

I would then create my creature file and assign its' animation to IC_WIGHT2 - 60432.  That is all you do.

known bugs and compatibility

The animate.ids has a finite number of slots.  Some slots will not work with this animations style.  Check with your preferred Mod Help forum or ask here at SHS if you encounter odd crashes.

The current state of animation porting requires the overwriting of an existing animation slot to see new animations in the game.  Please bear that in mind when choosing a slot for the animations.

Some work has been done to free up some other slots by consolidating animations into weapon slots.  Some animation slots can contain as many as 5 or 6 seperate animations.  The downside to this is that currently there is no workaround for the missing death animations of the animations used in that slot.  Be cautious
