Khalid in BG2: Near death??

I just got to the room where Khalid body is. His status is Near Death!

I assume that is just a bug. Or is there anything that can be done with him? Maybe he changes status to Dead after jaheira's dialog triggers? Could we then conclude that she is the one that kills him?

    Khalid doesn't usually have a status, he's just a part of the background, and there's a description when you click on him with the golden arrow. When you say his status, what do you mean?

    Are you running any mods? There are a few Khalid creature files but I've never seen them there. Just the usual question mark and a background with his corpse.

    When you click tab or hint, it shows how injured the peoples are, like injured, and dead. Khalid is near death, not dead.

    Maybe the budding romance between Charname and Jaheira pushes him over the edge
