Music production for Baldur's Gate

So my question involves the music of Baldur's Gate, particularly the deep choir sounds used in the majority of the tracks. Does anyone know how to get that particular Baldur's Gate choir sound? I've been searching for choir plug ins that sound similar, but sadly most of the plug ins I've come across all sound more like Halo and less like Baldur's Gate.

Any clues on how I can go about accomplishing a similar sound? Or has anyone read any interviews with Michael Hoenig and learned what kind of software or equipment he was using to create those types of choir vocals? Any help would be appreciated, I figured here in the Beamdog forums would be the best place to ask.
