Network installation?

Is it possible to install NWNEE to a network drive? I'd like to be able to switch between my desktop and laptop without maintaining two separate installs.

    I don't see why it wouldn't be possible, with some caveats.

    For BDC, you can target it at a path hosted on your NAS, for example.

    Keep in mind that this doesn't sync your user dir (Documents/Neverwinter Nights), which includes your saves, modules, and also your multiplayer identity (CD key). Especially the latter is filled in by BDC at first launch, so make sure to copy over cdkey.ini manually.

    For Steam, the same would apply, but using Steam-specific online features won't work (Friends lists, Invites, etc.). Also, Steam will not be able to fetch your CD key, so make sure to copy the ini by hand.

    I would think that the experience will probably be sub-par. NWN does a lot of random access file reading, especially when using custom content (and you plan to store your user dir on a network share too), and piping it all over a network cable might be too slow to be fun.
