Fraps alternatives?

Looking for a fraps alternative. Please don't suggest nvidia shadowplay or Obs.

    Bandicam is very good IMO

    I use SMRecorder on my laptop with XP.

    You might find the recommendation annoyingly nerdy, but I use ffmpeg and it's probably the best alternative you have, since you can do all further editing with it as well. And it's free, uses next to zero resources if you set it up right, and you can record rawvideo which lets you tap into any resolution you might be playing at no matter the framerate. And if you're on Mac, using ffmpeg to record raw audio is the only way to escape the audio lag that originates from having to re-route it to be able to capture it, although you do have to manually convert it later, but it's not that hard. ffmpeg does take some time to get used to, but life itself is learning new things all the time, so what gives.
