Create my own kit - help!

I am interested in creating my own kit. Specifically would like to beef up the single class druid a little bit and give them a few more powerful late game spells - such as some strong arcane spells as HLAs.

No experience modding, but I consider myself smart enough so I want to give it a whirl.

Any recommended resources?
