Fun way to play Multiclasses.

Usually when I play a multiclass I try to maximize both classes and give all the best gear to my player character.

Recently though I've been trying having one class as my "Primary Class". So for example I've been playing this gnomish illusionist/thief, but I've decided she's a thief first and a mage second. I don't use her as my party's main caster. She only gets caster gear if it's left over after Neera and Imoen have gotten theirs. So on and so forth.
