NWN:EE Crash and Deletes Quick Save

Hello, I had an issue that's persisted over multiple computers for NWN EE. Basically, at some point the game crashes during normal gameplay. I haven't seen any real unifying reason. Game just crashes with a message saying's crashed.
Whatever, that's fine, it happens. The bad part is whenever I go back in, my quick save will be gone. As the game doesn't auto save often, and I'm not the sort to make a ton of manual saves, losing a quick save has frequently ended modules I otherwise was enjoying. Not fun being level 11 in DoD, have game crash, then load back and see the last auto save is from when I first entered town on 8.
Is there anything I can do to prevent this? Or barring that, is there some mod that changes the quick save feature like there is for Baldur's Gate?
