SOLVED - The application was unable to start - OpenAL32.DLL

I recommended BG2 EE to a friend. I'm beginning to think it was a waste of time. We were both confronted with the dreaded OpenAL32.DLL error.

We both downloaded the file and copied the DLL file into the game folder but now when ever we start the game we both get the same error.

The application was unable to start 0xc000007b - Click OK to close the application

He is now considering getting a refund and I can't blame him. My old BG2 discs are somewhere in storage but I don't know whether I should hunt for them.

Scrap that. Problem solved. We were using the x64 version of OpenAL32.DLL and not the 32 bit version.
