Why did this have to change? To what end?

I'm sure I'll get use to the change... eventually. It just caught me off guard. After 19 years of being one way....

    Wasn't it something about being skinnable? So theoretically someone could re-skin the toolset?
    Something like that in the patch notes. That's probably why it had to change from old as dirt :)
