Shadows of Undrentide - evil enemies - smite evil

Greetings.

Are there many evil enemies in Shadows of Undrentide?

And is it make sense to get extra smiting for paladin as soon as possible?
(at 3rd lvl, for example)

    In Chater 1 The Kobolds & Gnolls likely are, the "elf" types I bet they are.
    In the Interlude The Undead certainly and the Outsiders are likely.
    In Chapter 2 the Undead & Shadow people & the final villain certainly.

    Not the Spiders & Golems in Chapter 2.

    Usually there's many evil creature's but I learnt from experience.

    Elementals are Neutral, most of the Outsiders summoned by enemies tend to be evil but not always.

    Enemy Undead are always evil it seems but I don't think they should always be.

    I remember playing a Pally in the OC years ago and I assumed the green Dragon was evil so I casted protection against evil and ran in to smite...her fear aura still got me and I was spanked to death ?.... she's Neutral.
