custom sounds still not working in BG2 EE

in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
is anyone else having this problem? i still can't get custom sounds to work properly in bg2ee, i even fiddled with NI to "force" them in sort of speak and even that is not working

does anyone else have a work around to make them work? or is this just going to be a bug that persists until the end of time?
