Help with EE Keeper and BG

I'm trying to do a Groundhog day run. I can't add/restore Bhaalspawn spell powers to my Paladin (Cav kit). I was able to add a healing spell to Imoun. In the Innate tab, whenever I try for my Pal, I am able to put it in my innate ability list, but I can't add any number to 'xMem.' When I try, I get this message, "...has reached maximum number of spells memorizable for this level." I've tried in the 'Memorization' tab increasing the number of innate 'Max can Memorize.' It didn't help. I've tried some combinations of using the 'Update Bonus Stats' but they didn't work.

I feel like I'm close, but I'm getting frustrated.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    I got it to work by using a level 1 version of the character. Thanks for offering a solution. I'll try it after I died again. I'm 8 deaths in, never claimed to be a good player.
