wild magic absurdity: LOLs!

.....I have no questions here, no recommendations. I just wanted to post about a totally ridiculous situation. I taught Neera Melf's Minute Meteors, figuring that if she already had the spell in effect when we entered combat, it would eliminate any Wild Magic nonsense during the actual engagement. She would just toss those off instead of casting more spells.
.....However, when I had her cast it, there was a Wild Magic surge ... and in addition to Neera, EVERYONE else in the party also got MMM as their active weapon. Korgan, Viconia, Jaheira and Yoshimo ... not only that, but Korgan, for absolutely no reason I could determine, had 2x as many MMM as anyone else! Oh, and Neera's spell also was cast at her level +2. Everyone ended up with 14 x 2 missiles, except for Korgan who had 14 x 4. My bard was already packing MMM, so there was no change there, but wow! My mind was totally blown! I laughed for about 2 minutes. OK, I am admittedly easily amused, but still ... this was just silly. :)

OMG; what a slaughter! All 6 of my crew tossing off a ton of attacks with MMM projectiles; there were close to a dozen enemies, but they had no chance. Korgan also decided to go berserk, which I had no idea could even happen when wielding magical missiles as a weapon. And we didn't take even a scratch. The most one sided fight ever. Lastly, we all had a few missiles left over. Since MMM never expires despite the passage of time, we will be well armed for the next combat as well. :D
Side note: My Blade loves MMM; combine this with offensive spin, and it's like a magical machine gun.
I am enjoying this now, because the odds against this ever happening again have to be literally astronomical.

That is awesome! Most often, Wild Surges just mean laugh, and hit reload. That may be the most advantageous surge I’ve heard of.

In my game (BG1), Neera constantly summons Nabassu demon as a wild surge. 😜

Korgan with Melf's in weapon slot. Everyone else got 2 slots filled, he has 4. No idea why, unless it's because he gets 5/2 weapon atacks per round when using a regular melee weapon.

As a warrior he’ll have four quick weapon slots, others only have two.

OK, that makes sense. So, would a Fighter/Mage who casts MMM also get 4 slots full of missiles? Never actually played one of those, so I have no idea.
Addendum: Never mind; I just checked it out, and a F/M apparently only gets 2 weapon slots. Too bad.

It's a nice effect (the "spell cast as AoE" surge) ...
... But the extra missiles are fake. You actually only have 14 missiles on each character there; there's one "magic weapon" slot that spells like MMM fill, and if there's anything in it the normal quick weapon slots are ignored. Switching weapon "slots" while MMM or a similar spell is active does not do anything meaningful. Throw any of those missiles, and you'll see all of the slots count down equally.

" Throw any of those missiles, and you'll see all of the slots count down equally."
Oh, I know they all go down at the same time, but I had thought that each attack discharged two missiles at once, not just one. Am I in error here? If so, then that visual is rather misleading.
Addendum: I went over the definitipn of the spell, and it does indeed seem that you are correct. Why the heck do they show it occupying 2 (or 4) slots? I am guessing it's to show that you can't equip or attack with any other weapons, but that's just confusing if you haven't read the detailed description of the spell.
