No Avatar; what am I missing?

edited June 13 in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
We are in the elven city, and have gathered the three artfacts needed: the Harp, the Moonblade and the Cup. We have visited every marked location on the map. We defeated the guardians of the Temple, and placed the three artifacts on the altar. Nothing happened. No Avatar appears. Am I missing a step somewhere? Or perhaps the Avatar appears someplace other than the Temple?

    OK, this is very frustrating. I have spoken to evertybody who is visible, placed the artefacts on the altar 4 times now, and nothing happens. No Avatar appears, and the gates to the Palace remain stubbornly closed. And I also did the verify file integrity thing; everything is fine it says. Anyone know what's wrong here? :(

    Well doh! I needed the stone harp in order to progress through the gate. Who knew? OK Irenicus, you scumbag! We are coming for you!
