Q. about backstabbing with dual weapons

I will have a thief (to eventually become mage) that will use dual weapons.

To backstab I have read that I need to put the fastest weapon in the main hand. Is this true?
And if so that means the backstab is ONLY for that weapon and not for both weapons?

The backstab is for both weapons (if they are both eligible for backstabbing). However, when U hit an enemy with right or left hand, U normally become immediately visible. So the next hit by the other hand will not backstab (unless U use immediately something like Hide in Plain Sight or some tricks / exploits). 😎

    There is a nice trick 10 backstabs per round (!!): https://forums.beamdog.com/discussion/88894/tob-lob-solo-fmt-aerich-tactics-2-belms-10-backstabs-per-round ⚔️

You only get a backstab on the first attack that takes you out of invisibility. Which is almost always the main-hand weapon, but can be the off-hand weapon in some circumstances.

Generally, you're only going to see off-hand backstabs if you apply mid-round invisibility effects or if you use a "backstab every hit" effect (Assassination).

Assassination is cool, but it's an HLA, which means you aren't going to be able to use it until way late in the game.
