Instant death bug in Dream sequence in Spellhold

Hi to all!
A'm long time BG player (since 1998 omg) and for now i'm playing with mods, mainly BG Tweaks and SCS. And now I had problem: the game let my CHARNME dying in variety of scripted scenes. I had this situation in animation after entering Illithid city in Underadark (at last solved via MOVETOAREA console command to bypass entering to city) and in current game is my CHARNME forced to death in Dream sequence with Bhaal at the start of Spellhold - just after I end my speech with Imoen ("... find me within.."), my CHARNME in animation die. MOVETOAREA doesn't help, CTRL+J doesn't help, i'm stuck!
If anybody have an idea, I would be glad.
PS: sorry for my terrible english.

    I recently had the same problem (on my previous full run) where my mc died on entering the Illithid caves in the Underdark. Every time. Never encountered that before (I’ve also been playing since they were new).

    I have played many times with CDTweaks so I *don’t think* that would be it. SCS is newer for me, but I have completed one previous run with it where this did not happen.

    I had assumed it was just odd bit of corrupted code. There were no other glitches, and I don’t *need* to do the Illithid caves every run.
    But yeah, very strange if we both encountered the same glitch.

    Illithid city at last isn't big problem (as you say), but now, in Dream sequence ... I can't just skip it, can't move to another area .. and you are right - CDT wans't a source of problem. And when I recently played (year or two ago) with this combination of mods (CDT + SCS), all went fine. IMO the problem is last version of SCS.

    Ha!! PRoblem finally solved! Before cutscene I changed difficulty to "Story mode" and after cutscene ended and Bhaal spawned, I changed Difficulty back to "Hardcore" and everything is fine for now.

    Obviously a workable fix. I'll remember that if I encounter the same glitch again!

    so regarding the illithid city, the mind flayers use an ability called "mind cripple" and it is just supposed to put your team to sleep

    if that ability is killing your character that could be because SCS has changed what spin802.SPL is supposed to do ( which is the "spell" that the mind flayers use to put your characters to sleep ) i can give you guys a copy of the original spin802.SPL file and you can just drag it into your override folder and see if that fixes that problem and if it doesn't fix the problem i would delete it

    and if it does fix the problem, hopefully it won't mess up any other encounters in the game in case for some reason battles in SCS are scripted with spin802 ( but in reality they shouldn't be, because this looks like a "cut scene" spell if you would )

    Thx, I plan to visit Illithid city in this week, so i try this (if I find this bug again oc).

    Awesome Sarevok57! My current run is still a few weeks out from being there, I’ll see if it’s needed (I did rebuild my install this time).

    when exactly does your charname die in this sequence?

    is it as soon as the original dialogue with imoen ends?
    or is it when you encounter bhaal for the first time?
    or is it when you bring bhaal to imoen?

    im hoping this is a scripting error of some sort, the only "spell" script that gets cast in all of this is cast on Jon Irenicus, so im hoping that doesnt affect the player

    with that, im going to assume that SCS ( and also hope ) that SCS doesnt change the cutscene scripts so i want you to put both of these files into your override folder and see if that fixes the problem

    if it does not fix the problem, delete these 2 files and we can try something else
