swashbuckler question

in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition
OK, I am supposed to be able to set one trap per 4 levels; i.e. at levels 1,5, 9 and 13. My swashbuckler turned 15 and can still only set 3 traps. Why?

    It's one use every five levels, not four. 1, 6, 11, etc.

    For a single-class thief, the levels you get new uses of Set Traps are the same as when the ability gets stronger.

    .....Heh, yeah I sort of figured that out when I hit level 16 and the fourth trap kicked in. Nice damage boost also. Thanks for the confirmation, though. Also, I am carrying an absurd number of weapons. Six swords? Two bows and the Staff of Fire? And an extra set of armor? My OCD is really showing here.
    .....Also, I really really want to hit level 24. I see that the theoretical level cap for a thief kit in ummodded BG2 is 23. If I min/max experience gain can I hit level 24?
