Download nightmare

After 3 days i am finally at 10 MB. I start at 600 k/bs but then it bogs down to under 10. I have downloaded all of Biowares DLC and have never had any issues. So looks like I probably won't be playing. Oh well I have wasted 20 bucks on worse things. Just let me buy a cd so I can get it installed.

    Have you tried reading any of the solutions on the forums. Like the torrent solution?or other solutions that have been posted.

    I have read through them. I am not a technical guy harleys and guns more my strength. I don't have the knowledge to mess with ports and that kind of stuff. But thanks for responding.

    Now I am at 29 mb so its not constantly kicking me off now.

    just delete it from the control panel (in the start menu) then re download the independent installer. i was getting 15 b/s then i ended up getting ~1mb/s after i re installed the downloader.

    If I were you, I would use the torrent. I gave up using the standalone downloader.

    At 295 mb now. It is staying above 600 k/bs now.

    Hopefully it keeps at that speed or better.

    It took me less than 30 mins to download with 3% of my connection..
    A few tips.

    Enable P2P (so you share but also gain from other peers)
    Restart the downloader if you see probems (IE timeouts etc)

    791 MB and still dl @ 660 k/bs. And the p2p is on.

    What connection do you have and what ISP? maybe its a ISP problem rather than a problem with the downloader

    I have cable connection (supposedly fastest) 75 bucks a month. Don't know ISP.

    You have 3 days to download 2G, there is no need of hurry.
    600kb/s is good enough (though i used to DL this game at 1Mb/s).

    I had 200 KB/s with Beamdog downloader for a while.
    Now it's just 100, but it's still good!

    I think the problem is your ISP or the Routing it provides.. but as Avenger so friendly says.. you should be ok.. I do recommend you to try and restart/even reinstall the downloader from beamdog..

    Time of day is important too I think. I tried downloading three times. First two was in the evening here, so I will have been fighting with all you yanks for download rate too. Tried again this morning (while you're all blissfully slumbering) and I was getting 5MB/s. It downloaded in less than 10 minutes... :)
