[Multiplayer_FIXED] Ip selection issue

Issue :

In multiplayer mode, entering an ip adress then clicking done makes the game freeze then crash.

Possible reason:

You, or host does not have certain ports open thus allowing access for you to connect or him to receive.

Solution :

One of the solution is to use VPN programs such as hamachi.

Here is a pretty good tutorial on how to configure LogMeInHamachi.

Hope this helped you guyz.

If anyone has a solution on fixing the game crash for non-host players after launching the game is welcomed to post here.

Well we have been able to use Hamachi to create a mutiplayer game. However your not out of the woods yet, as once your party zones out of candlekeep you get hit by major game breaking bugs.

Also as a point of reference, the 3 of us that were in the party were all using Win 7 64

    UPDATE

Things tested for 2 players mode but resulted in a failure

-Player 1 hosting and player 2 joining
-Player 2 hosting and player 1 joining
-Loading a saved game past the intro cinematic/dialog
    -Create new characters both players
    -Use pre-saved characters both players
-Host use new character, Player 2 uses pre-saved
-Host use pre-saved character, Player 2 uses new character
-Use more than one character for each players
-Use only one character for each player
-Assign players a different seat (host is by default seat 1)
    -Joining a game in session
-Remove all permissions from player 2
    -Windowed mode
    -Firewall removed
    -Run as administrator

    Things noticed

-Game freezes for both players until Player 2 is kicked out
-Sound may not play for Player 2 ( sometimes for host too°
-Display message "The multiplayer session has been terminated"
-Display in dialog box for Host "Player 2 has left" => suggesting he might actually not get kicked.

In game .ini file, there's a line "Multiplayer , 'default' , " What is default meaning? is it for the permission?
