Apologies for yet another 'please help' type thread.
I can access the main options screen (tutorial, pits, play).
If I choose play I can make a character as expected.
I can get the intro text and voiceover fine.
Immediately thereafter, the program stops working.

I'm not savvy enough to figure out what I need to do about this, and have not found a post in the forums which accords quite to what I am getting. Any assistance would be most welcome.

OK - have finally seen several pretty much identical records from other users but none in a thread which ends with a solution...

    Progress since the updates...
    The game now plays... kinda.
Characters and NPCs show. Moving objects show. No backgrounds (grey or white depending on whether visible) and the animation is tectonic.
Hoping for further help from beamdog support but any forum comments welcome!
