Multiplayer cross functionality with people without the DLC

Once this launches I intend to get 5 other mates together across multiple formats to do a play through. Will anyone with an iPad/Android platform who have not bought the DLC be unable to play with those with complete copies?

    I believe they will be able to play, just not host those areas or play off line themselves, I THINK that's how it goes.

    I believe I read somewhere that multiplayer across multi platform has some bugs with the initial release.

    We tried this last night, Windows to iPad, and the iPad was a different version, so it failed.

    May just be an update behind.
