Unreadable Spells icons on high res.

Spells icons in Spell book are too small and almost unreadable (and ugly) on hi res (1920x1200). // Icons should adjust it’s size on hi res.

The Spell Images in the spellbook both for Mages and Priests/Druids are not the same as the ones on scrolls, besides the obvious lack of a Rune/Stone background. These images seem to be overall lower quality. This leads to some spells being hard to identify in the spellbook or some parts of the icon falling away against the background. Further some appear to have been clipped off so that whole sections of the icon are actually missing.

yes, agreed; same here on 1920x1080. Barely readible, and washed away logos.. doesn't look great either. ,(

Phe. I have 1024*600 and icons still looks much worse than in BGT. Number of scrolls/potions in stack is nearly unreadable. I guess, game optimized for middle displays.

It is a shame they look so poor, I guess the original assets were really low quality. I think the only way to salvage them is for the specific icon art to be upscaled by an out-of-game utility utilizing some special algorithms developed for pixel art, and the icons re-saved in higher resolution.

Thankfully, the code exists to fix this. Look at this Microsoft Image Scaling Research Project comparison. It's amazing what they've been able to do, but I think it likely would require the assets to be extracted, upscaled, saved and reintroduced into the game. I doubt it's a computationally light algorithm.

@Nathan cuz he does stuff. Here's the white paper detailing their code, maybe someone at beamdog or elsewhere with CS skills can work some magic.
