On my current play through of BG:EE on my iPad i found this strange scroll at the Gnoll Stronghold.

Anyone who knows what this is?

You my friend, are lucky! That is a very rare random loot drop from Gnoll's Xvart's, and I think Hobgoblins. It has no purpose, but I think it sells for 100 GP in shops.

    Cheers

I got it from a Gnoll.

Very lucky you say? 100 GP? Wow. That will save my day...

I got two of those in my first playthrough and both dropped off of Ghasts.

I got that scroll from Gorion's body in Chapter 1. Been keeping it as I had no idea what it was for.
Are we certain that it isn't an easter egg like the pantaloons?

Isn't that one of the riddles between Gollum and Frodo in the Hobbit?

You might wanna hang on to that if you are gonna play through BG2, SOA, TOB. :-)

You can use it with the Machine of Lum the Mad and it causes your character's dexterity to drop to 3 (because you lose your hands and feet).

    May not be true...

You could also find the crypto-graph ones...they're pretty funny.

You can get infinite cash from it using an exploit that exists even in EE! Use it like a normal scroll twice and the number will wrap around to about 65k (maximum value for a 2-byte integer), then sell it.

2^16, or 65536. I thought that exploit was fixed back in the old patches for BG1?
