Items that are unusable for mages are often referred to as not usable by a certain mage specialist, like Transmuter or Necromancer For example: Full Plate Mail not usable by: Transmuter, Transmuter/Thief instead of Mage, Mage/Thief same has been observed for swords etc.
Current behaviour: The Shadow Armor restrictions list "Wild Mage" instead of "Mage", and accordingly illegal class combinations, e.g. Cleric/Wild Mage.
Expected behaviour: The Shadow Armor restrictions list "Mage" instead of "Wild Mage".
It's more a bugged feature, actually. Desc shows the OWNER of the item restriction. So, if Neera has this armor in her pack, desc tell you "Wild Mage". Give it to Xzar and it will tell you that "Necromancer" is restricted. Bug-part is that there is no consistent in this feature. Transfer the item between the party members shows strange results - some "kits" lockes, then dissappear to clean "mage" after one or several transfers.
Oh, I didn't know that. However, it wasn't even in my inventory. This was still in the barter screen. And it was Imoen who inspected it, not my WM main character. So it's a bit confusing.
I am playing with wild mage and all the "not usable by" in item discreptions are wild mage inculding fighter/wildmage/cleric and the other multi and dual class options.
This is an often reported problem with the header. <_< It changes to the kit of the last mage who had it in their inventory. If no mage had it, it's usually Transmuter or something.
I recommended that it just say "Mage," since no other kit gets special mention unless it really is a kit-specific restriction.
