Window 8?

in Windows PC (Archive)
I am trying to run BG:EE on windoes 8, and I just get a black screen with a white box, then a crash. Any help?

    Working fine for me on Win8 x64,try updating your drivers.

    It is also working well in my Win 8 laptop , same suggestion which you can try update the graphic driver first , or at least your PC Spec , then more people can help you,

    Hey Wakukee - we had the same issue on our Win8 laptop. Here's how we solved it:

    1. Press the Windows-button+E (opens an Explorer-window).
    2. Navigate to where you've installed Baldur's Gate.
    3. Search for, or navigate to Baldur.exe (might show up as only Baldur if you're not showing file-endings).
    4. Right click Baldur and select Properties.
    5. Go to the "Compatibility"-tab and change the "Compatibility mode" to "Windows 98 / Windows ME" and for good measure, also tick the "Run this program as an administrator"-tick box.
    6. Run it! Play it! :D

    That worked great, thanks! I actually had trouble finding the compatibility options beyond windows vista, but I found it eventually.
