Solo Bug [dorn encounter, crash]

When soloing, heading to the Nashkel Mines from Nashkel causes the blackguard encounter to start, but it bugs out and Dorm (or whatever his name is) doesn't appear after slaughtering the three fellows in the back. I kill the two minion bandits, but the remaining two named NPCs stay blue and won't talk to me, so I kill them. Upon trying to leave, the game crashes; reloading autosave allows me to leave, but I never encounter the blackguard. This has happened twice now.
