blun38's extra thac0 effect did have the wrong power level, so that's fixed at least. boot12 now uses the generic "Boots" (#6339) when unidentified. Done and done. Yep, fixed. This is mainly so that they'll behave like thrown magic, i.e. there's no reason why Mantle should stop these. Since they do have the proper power levels set, though, spell protections will still work against them. Melf's Minute Meteors behave the same way. @Jalily, we need to be careful here--in my local build, 16323 is 'Brun's Dead Son' and asisgned to the general name. 16324 is also 'Brun's Dead Son' and assigned as the identifed name and the general description. We should assign the same string to the name (0x8, 0xc) and the other to the descript (0x50, 0x54) but I need to know which you'll put where. Done. Keeping with the other changes, shouldn't #10234 have a capital 'A'? misc81 changes made. 17311 is used in both name fields and 17302 in both descripts. I've already assigned a lore for quiver02 in another fix (20 IIRC). quiver01 and quiver05 are lore scores from BG2, so I'm not going to mess with them--looking for consistency in lore scores is generally a disappointing experience. Well, you'd never see RSBRAC unidentified since they only come on Rasaad, pre-identified. I actually submitted a patch to give RSBOOT and SW2HD1 lore scores and gave them the proper generic name and descript. We should do the same for RSBRAC since they do have a lore score. None of these changes will be visible to players, but it's best practice for items. While magical flags get checked by a some scripting, enchantment levels for non-weapons are never checked by anything AFAIK. That's odd. I see an ecnhantment of 0 in the current release build and 1 in my internal. The enchantment fixes were supposed to be in 2012, where it should have been set to 1. I'll include it again in this patch. Done. Generic descript has also been moved to #6731. Well, and it's also lore-less so the unidentified strings won't be seen.
Enchantments fixed. Yeah, for 0-lore or identified items the tooltip comes from the strref at 0x0c.
Running some last tests before submitting.
I recognize that precedence is against me (Firetooth + 4, Blahblah + 2, etc), but I would hope that there is respect for the original game and we do not pass a cold, clinical naming filter over all items in an effort to completely standardize them. There is a place for standards (like in the representation of statistical information) and there is a place for differences. I think item's names, with their corresponding histories and varied abilities, benefit from some nonstandardization.

It's been raised several times in the forums so it would be nice to have a opinion on what this should be.
I raised this one before, and apparently there was no problem in your build, but NI still tells me that BULL04 has these weird properties. The problem could very well be with NI however.
Question w.r.t. to "enchantment levels for non-weapons are never checked by anything AFAIK." Is there a Shield Bash attack in BG? Because then the enchantment levels would become relevant for shields [which is why I mentionned them, but I never used a shield bash if the option is there, so I don't know].
