* General name should probably be "Amulet" and not "Silver Amulet"

* It says it decreases the spellcasting speed by 1... so it makes the spellcasting take more time or less? If it decreases the spellcasting time by 1... then that's what should be mentioned in the description IMO.

    When a weapon has variable "plusses" depending on conditions, the enchantment value is set to the highest number.

    Don't need to be identified/not used. However, in the case of MISC81, the identified name should be reassigned to #17311 and the identified description to #17302.

    Probably, but you don't need to identify this, so it shows up as "Ancient Armor" right away.

    These don't need to be identified, so you'll see "Letter," etc. instead of "Scroll." Proper identified names would be really nice! Unfortunately, they'd all require new strings.

    A moonblade is a type of magical sword, not actually a dagger even though it uses that type/proficiency so Xan can wield it.

    It's "Vampiric Sword" on purpose (see general description). Enchantment stuff is for @CamDawg.

    @Jalily: Re "Doesn't need to be identified" ... Aren't those still visible elsewhere even when identified? Like in the tool-tip that pops up when you over them with your mouse? I could swear I saw those general names somewhere other than before identification, but maybe I'm thinking of before and after identification and I'm just confused.

    @Jalily, we need to be careful here--in my local build, 16323 is 'Brun's Dead Son' and asisgned to the general name. 16324 is also 'Brun's Dead Son' and assigned as the identifed name and the general description. We should assign the same string to the name (0x8, 0xc) and the other to the descript (0x50, 0x54) but I need to know which you'll put where.
    In both builds I have, #16323 is the general name and description (and includes the statistics), and #16324 is the identified name (and does not include the statistics).

    @Jalily and @CamDawg I haven't read every line, but I noticed acceptance of the changes to the Helm and Cloak of Balduran, which included modifying their names to include "+1". I wholeheartedly encourage you not to pursue this route of extreme standardization, as idiosyncrasies lend themselves to a good narrative and a believable world. I don't mean the buggy type of idiosyncrasies, but if these are to be the item names then I feel simply "Helm of Balduran" and "Cloak of Balduran", as they were originally written, are fine. They are unique items, and do not need all their modifiers in the name, especially when they were not there to start with and do not interfere with gameplay in any way (i.e. their descriptions note the +1 effect clearly).

    I recognize that precedence is against me (Firetooth + 4, Blahblah + 2, etc), but I would hope that there is respect for the original game and we do not pass a cold, clinical naming filter over all items in an effort to completely standardize them. There is a place for standards (like in the representation of statistical information) and there is a place for differences. I think item's names, with their corresponding histories and varied abilities, benefit from some nonstandardization.

    That's my 2 cents.

    You're preaching to the choir @agris, but strings are the domain of @Jalily. I've argued against adding the +x to the unique item names, as Kondar +1 implies the existence of a Kondar +2, +3 et al., but I've already lost that argument.

    Personally, w.r.t. to Helmet of Balduran and Cloak of Balduran, I feel the +1 is excessive in those two specific cases. But I mentionned it because I'd rather be comprehensive with potential issues. I'm fine with all the others however (i.e. Kondar +1 / The Protector +1 / Ring of the Princes +1 / The Guard's Ring +2 / Helmet of the Noble +1 / etc.)

    * Should be "Koveras's Ring of Protection +1" or even better "Koveras's Ring of the Princes +1"

    Opting for the latter would also resolve the issue about the Ring's description raised in [Part 4] (http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/13374/headbombs-big-list-of-weapons-and-items-issues-part-4).

    * Should maybe be named Gauntlets of Crushing +4?

    * Description is rather ... bland and lacking... It's simply "Durlag's Pride" with the stats, and no flavour text at all.

    And for @CamDawg

    BULL04
    * Name is Sunstone Bullet +1
    * Description says THAC0 +1, 1d4+2, +2 Fire
    * Behaviour is TACH0+1, 1d4+2, +0d6 [can't figure our damage type, probably fire] (No save)
    * Bullets have a Slay effect on them

    CHAN03 and CHAN08
    * Both are apparently Chainmail of the Dead +2
    * Properties are inconsistant between each other [Strength]
    * Descriptions are inconsistant between each other [One is the real Mail of the Dead description, the other is a generic Chainmail Description]

    PLAT06
    * This armor really should have AC 2, since it's a non-magical Ankheg Plate (the vanilla version disallowed to wear rings, and its behaviour was consistant with an Ankheg Plate +1). So I believe this should either be made a normal Ankheg Plate (AC 2), or it should be turned into an Ankheg Plate +1 (and disallow rings as per vanilla) [I think the latter was the intended behaviour]. It's been raised several times in the forums so it would be nice to have a opinion on what this should be.

    I raised this one before, and apparently there was no problem in your build, but NI still tells me that BULL04 has these weird properties. The problem could very well be with NI however.

    Question w.r.t. to "enchantment levels for non-weapons are never checked by anything AFAIK." Is there a Shield Bash attack in BG? Because then the enchantment levels would become relevant for shields [which is why I mentionned them, but I never used a shield bash if the option is there, so I don't know].

    This has been discussed endlessly and I'd rather not derail this thread with more. I don't believe it's going to change.

    Actually, this one is mine since we need to assign strings. General name is now 6654 and general descript is 6656.

    The damage effect is 2 points of fire damage, so it's good. The slay effect is for an incredibly specific BG2 use, which should be kept but not explicitly stated in in its description.

    Sunstone bullets can kill the BG2 Shadow Altar in the Umar Hills in one shot.

    chan08 is actually just generic +2 chain mail; it just needs an updated identified name. The description actually does mention it's enchanted and AC 3. I'm assigning 30694 (chain mail +2) as the identified name.

    Nah, no offensive capabilities for shields.

We should assign the same string to the name (0x8, 0xc) and the other to the descript (0x50, 0x54) but I need to know which you'll put where.
    In both builds I have, #16323 is the general name and description (and includes the statistics), and #16324 is the identified name (and does not include the statistics).
    Whoops, yeah, that's what I meant. I'm assigning 16324 as the names and 16323 as the descripts.
