can't LEAVE the cloud peaks

in New Players (NO SPOILERS!)
i have killed gamaz and went back out to the cloud peaks main map, and can't find the access point to leave. is this a bug? any advice will be great! thanks

    You leave from where you came in: the NW corner of the map. Look for a path there that curves behind some rocks.

    Note that unlike most maps, the exit isn't along the map edge.

    thanks a lot, that was getting frustrating. have never seen a map like that. thanks again!
