Is Hairtooth gone?

in New Players (NO SPOILERS!)
I believe i paid him off, but i read about his gauntlets of dexterity. Is he anywhere that can be found or is he pretty much gone?

    Chalk that up as the worst 100 gold ever spent!

    I actually just cut Gnarl and Hair Tooth down about 15 minutes ago. Minsc is currently rocking the buffed dexterity gauntlets, which may go to Jaheira when I reshuffle the party.
