Dradeel's Spellbook?

Okay, I conquered the monsters in the ship (both levels), and opened all the chests or barrels that I could find, but I cannot find Dradeel's spellbook. Any tips?

    The ship has four levels. The rungs going up to the third are positioned just over the hole you entered the second level through, so they're easy to miss.
