Would this game work well using the WIndows 8 Service Pro tablet controls?

I'm considering getting a Windows 8 Surface Pro, and own the Windows version of BGEE. I'd love to play it on using the tablet controls, but I'm wondering would it work the same/as well as using it on say, an iOS tablet? Do the controls change much between versions?

    iOS doesn't have separate controls, but does have some control-oriented features which might not be in the Win32 version of the game, like selection radius.

    I just got a Surface Pro and I'm actually searching the forums now to see if you can reconfigure a mouse drag to equate to an iOS swipe or not.

    The Surface Pro WACOM pen will work as a mouse, but from a fresh install, you need to hover the pen at the side of the screen to scroll, or use keyboard arrow keys to scroll.
