Mouse Pointer Vanishes when I start up the game

in New Players (NO SPOILERS!)
I looked around the internet and forums and people say to turn off the hardware option under graphics to get the mouse pointer back but here is the problem how can I get to the option if I can't see my mouse pointer? Can anyone help me?
