BGII compatibility

Hi everyone, kinda new here sorry if this is in the wrong section. I'm planning on buying BGII on steam but I wanna know if it is compatible with Windows 8. It's been a while since I last played this masterpiece and I'm wondering what mods came out worth getting.

    I would assume it works with windows 8, it worked on vista and windows 7 just fine, and plus im sure windows 8 will have a compatibility option to run it as a lower version of windows if need be, in fact im quite sure that SoA supports 3d acceleration which is a good thing
