Remove crit protection from helms and other head slot items

Simple enough.

Helms are assumed to be part of a suit of armor (even leather and chain) and add no benefit at all over what armor gives. Wearing a different helm is assumed to replace the helm you were already wearing, and unless the new helm has some magical benefit will not affect the character in any way.

Currently, most of the helms in game are assumed to be part of plate suits, preventing basically all other characters from wearing any helm, until Ioun stones or the thief hood are introduced in BG2. Where as, by proper PnP, anyone able to wear armor should be able to wear a helm. Adding more readily available helms usable by any class (except mages) would alleviate some of the issues with the current implementation, but doesn't change the underlying problem.

In PnP crit protection is an extremely high level property (roughly analogous to +5 quality gear, just for that property alone) and should not be as readily available as it is now.

Add an actual item property to prevent crits, rather then anything jammed into the head slot preventing crit, and then add the property only to creature items of creatures who should be immune to crits (as far as I can find...in 2nd edition only slimes/jellies and Golem should be immune to critical hits, everything else is perfectly legit) as well as adding a crit preventing armor or helm later in the game that does nothing except prevent crits..and maybe a +1 ac if it's a helm or +2 ac if it's body armor.

Either change would be good in my book (I prefer the latter personally), and would remove yet another glaring imbalance that should not be. (a lot of people won't take a class without a headslot item anywhere near combat due to fear of crits, causing a lot of classes to be used improperly and getting a bad rep when they under-perform).

Warriors have too many advantages as it is, and adding even more, that they aren't supposed to have is just too much.

Critical Hit Protection should be a class specific bonus for wearing helmets, instead of item based. Ergo a warrior should get the protection with anything on his head.

AS soon as they lose their extra attacks from warrior levels, sure.
