New items seen in the BG2 teaser?

The mages appear to be holding either a wand or staff that has a yellow glowing circle type thing on the end. Anyone know what this is and if so, what it does?

    Im pretty sure that its a mod that changes the appearance of mage staves.

    it seams like the bg1 mod that add ranged staves. There is 1 in the game files of bg1 so probably they add more of them.

    As they've included 1pp v4.x in BG:EE, and also in BG2:EE, if they said that sprites stay the same, then that's probably the staff of the magi.
