Sorcerer and mage can't take weapon styles despite description

I just did a clean install, updated to 1.0.2012, created a sorcerer, and used console to give it max level.
It got 2 weapon proficiency slots (1 at creation, 1 from levelup) and neither was allowed to be spent on any styles. However sorcerer description explicitly states you can buy up to proficient (1 slot) in any style.

For mage I only went as far as seeing that I can't spend my initial 1 slot at char creation and it wouldn't let me spend that on styles either, again, despite it clearly stating that you can do so.

    The latest version is 1.0.2014, and the descriptions have been updated to state that mages and sorcerers can't put any points into weapon styles.
