So IMO the spear isn't represented enough in BG2 and BG1 so I hope we could get new spears in the game.
It's such a great weapon but there aren't enough good spears in the game. Who wants a "Spear of the unicorn" if you can have Karsomir +5.

I don't know this has been discussed before, if it has I'm sorry. But I just would like to see more great spears in BG2:EE

    But kidding aside, spears are horribly underrepresented and (in my opinion) unfairly gimped. I think 1d6 is insufficient, but (even more) think they need the brutal critical hits that 3.0+ gives them (3x damage). In other words, some benefit to using them.

    The 'long reach' thing is supposed to work, but I haven't figured out how to get it to where I get to attack with one, but the opponent cannot reach. I must be missing out on something there.
