This is still present in v.2028. Has it been forgotten, abandoned, dismissed?

    I'm having the same problem too. Don't want to go back on my save just to get this one quest.

    To clarify you've installed the latest patch? (version 1.2 was released today for Beamdog purchasers)

    The patch hasn't changed that behavior; if you want to do his quest in Chapter 5, unzip the attachment and drop it into your override folder.

    I have the latest patch, put the file into the override folder. It didn't work on my most recent save, but just to test it does work on my older saves (these saves are still in Chapter 5), so not sure why that is...

    If you've spoken to Aldeth already, the fix won't work.

    Fair enough, then I'll just kill him and give up on the other quest.
