Launcher freeze

When I try to launch the game the launcher freeze I get the clock icon and "please wait.." then everything stops.

I can play the game by go straight to the Baldursgate.exe

    Same here. And the game it worked properly last time I played (a few days ago), so I guess it's something that was changed recently.

    My daughter has the same problem. We think it has to do with the Intel Chipset limitations, but I'm not certain. Regardless, you can run the game, so that's the most important thing. However, I don't know how you get updates if the loader won't run.

    This topic is an year old but became relevant again. We were having the issue that the launcher freezes right at the start and cannot update the game to the new patch. The game is playable from the .exe That was for BG:EE and it was ultimately fixed. However, I now get the very same issue with the latest BG:EE 2 patch.
