Should I dual class a mage that is already level 7 in BGEE?

As title says, have straight up level 7 mage. I am guessing I shouldn't dual class at this point? I was thinking of a fighter/mage but I think I should have started as a fighter then dualed to a mage...

    Yep, you're correct. It would be "pointless" to dual from mage to anything pretty much. If you want a dual fighter/mage, then start with fighter.
