Continuing Romances from BG:EE

Is there any benefit to continuing a romance with one of the new NPCs from the first game? Extra dialogue or anything? I'm running through BG:EE with a character I intend to export, and I'm just wondering if I can get away with ditching Neera or if I'd be missing out on something in the second game if I did.
