What happens with Edwin if you are enemies of the Shadow Thieves?

in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
Well I sided with Bodhi but I did it before completing the whole "expose mae'var" questline. I was able to start it and do Mae'vars and Edwins initial tasks, then get Edwin to join me. Now I'm supposed to go see Renal Bloodscalp but of course all the thieves are hostile now and Renal is nowhere to be found.

Wondering if this is going to cause Edwin to leave eventually if I can't complete his storyline....

    It won't, he doesn't give half a damn about the Shadow Thieves. The main loss is that turning in the quest to Renal gives you massive quest experience that you can't get anymore.

    Can I just say that Renal has a really awkward yet maybe appropriate name, you know, with all the kidney-shivving.

    Also, this may not affect his leaving, but possibly the associated quests and hilarity that follow?

    Technically if you managed to charm renal and talk to him wouldn't you ba able to end the quest?
