Question about an item

I was just wondering what's the worth on the Sandthief's ring sold at ulgoth's tavern. It demands such a hefty price, and it only has 7 charges of invisibility. Would it not be better to just buy invisibility potions instead of that ring, why pay that insane premium for the ring?

I don't see a reason to buy the ring unless you are running out of invisibility potions. On the other hand you usually end up with a s*** load of cash by the end game so why not spend it like a king?

Seven invisibility potions are MUCH cheaper, and Arrows of Detonation are nice but expensive, also, I won't buy it unless the party's thief has low STR and can't carry stacks of potions.
