I imagined comet as the most powerful use of magic from a RP perspective, because you are actually reaching millions of years in the past and redirecting the comet to strike the spot where your enemy will be standing someday. You are a tactical god.
Then I remember that magic could just poof the comet above their head for the same result. Damn you Occam.
I still prefer Improved Alacrity over either of the two. With the Robe of Vecna and Amulet of Power, it's pretty much ridiculous. I mean who needs Time Stop when you can cast everything all at once anyway?

So thanks to this thread I picked up Dragon's Breath instead of comet as my 2nd HLA.
I then went to visit Thaxll'ssillyia and after initiating, what I thought was going to be, a completely civil conversation I proceeded to cast Time Stop, then dropped 2 Dragon's Breath spells and at the very tail end dropped a Horrid Wilting. Thaxll'ssillyia was dropped like a hot potato and I suffered not one scratch.
I love the power in a solo high level Dragon Disciple.
