Wisdom based toons questions!

in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
I looked at Anomen in TOB and was surprised that he could cast lv 8 spells with only 12 wisdom, i thought u needed 18 wisdom to cast lv 8 spells. Guess i thought wrong, but 18 wis on a toon what gives ? Spellslots? better saves?

    Or was it lv 7 spells..*grins*

    Wisdom gives bonus spells, and at low wisdom you have a chance of fizzling your spells. I don;t think it effects which level you can cast (In BG, it might do in proper PnP).

    And yeah, its level 7 :)
